2016 Malibu LT brake light

Does the third tail light blink a few times when pressing on the brakes, on my 2016 Malibu LT?

From the factory no but someone may have made a modification.

Will installing led headlights cause this if so will it harm the system? Will a anti-blinking resistor stop the blinking?

If it only started after you installed the LED's, yes. They can cause lots of lighting issues requiring additional parts, resistors.

Thanks, the third brake is leds anyway so maybe it’s been doing that anyway, never noticed it before

Did you check the owners manual?

I can’t find anything in the manual about the third brake light. The only thing I saw was about the stop lamp / tail lamp is led. Then the chart shows the stop lamp / tail lamp are a w21w bulb. So I’m confused

Page 253 shows the decklid taillamp as a 194 the others as 7440.

My manual has it on page 311. Is the 194 led?
