2016 LT Pulling code P0796

I have a 2016 LT that last week started to get some RPM fluctuations while driving, especially and low RPMs. While driving it pulled a P0796 code. After the transmission warms up. 1st to 2nd is a hard shift. 2-3-4 are fine. 4th is as high as it will go. Took it to the dealer today and they said we need a new transmission. Anyone run into this issue?

Why aren't they trying to replace pressure control solenoid C?

That's a good question. They told me that the transmission won't move once it warms up but that is BS because I drove it home the day before when it started acting up. Is the solenoid accessible to change out?

You have to research access to solenoids

I found the replacement part. Everything I see says it is serviceable and should fix it. I'm inclined to try the $200 fix before I replace the entire tranny.
