Changed VVT solenoids exhaust and intake. Changed out the throttle body and position sensor (took the negative battery post off during installation because I read that helps the CPU relearn the new part). After installation of new parts, started up much better and idled for longer before chugging again (rocking back and forth while idling). Any other suggestions!? LT 2.4 eco 4cyl FWD

Did some more snooping around. The muffler has always been a little loud but now it’s leaking excess water from where the pipe meets the resonator. Could this be a sign of a bigger problem or what I should check off the fix list to make this chugging go away?

Do you have a check engine light on and if it is on what are the codes?

Check engine light has been on for about 6 months. Bought a new gas cap and that got rid of the check engine light for a little bit. Codes are P0013 and U0401-71.

Also if these help secondary DTCs are P0420 and P228D. I was probably going to check the fuel system a little more thorough I was leaning toward the high pressure fuel pump replacement.

Seems like you need to check the ECM connections and a fuel pressure test

ECM connections look good(snug and lines have no wear in them) as for fuel pressure test is that something I can do at home or go to a dealer?

You need to rent the tester and find the instructions for your vehicle. If you are going to dealer have them diagnose the problem.
