2011 Silverado 1500 parking assist

i have an '11 silverado 1500 with the 6.2L beast under the hood.
for some reason, my parking assist only works when it wants to. when you shift into reverse, about half the time it will start beeping for no reason. and its not steady, it will beep for a couple seconds, stop, then beep for a few more. no pattern in the tone.

then when you start driving forward, about 30 seconds after you shift into drive i get a message that says parking assist off.

does anybody else have this issue or know a fix for it? its not that big of a deal, its just annoying.
 
arent you still covered by the 3 years 36k factory warranty?
 
i bought it used with 47k on it.
it has 56k on it now.
i did however purchase the extended warranty through my bank. i could inquire with them and see if it covers it.

just wondering if there is an update through GM or an easy fix for it.

its always nice to have electronic copies of stuff like that.

i will try cleaning them and see if that helps. i have seen this problem occur after i have washed the truck too, but that could be due to wax or something from a touchless carwash.
