i was looking into the new silverados and i cant chose the one i like between the silverado 1500 5.3l or 6.2l v8 or the 2500HD 6.0l V8 gas. i like the crew cab body style but it isnt a must have. the stuff i might be doing w/ them is hauling a 4 wheeler or a dirtbike, or pulling a trailer. the only thing i dont like is that i can only get the 1500 crew cab in a short bed.

The new 6.2 is a mean engine and has lots of power the 5.3 has good power also,I dont like the 6.0 engine the 5.3 is just as good as the 6.0.

my dad has 2 silverados, both with 5.3's. they are both 1500's, and we can pull a shit ton of stuff with either of them. i would go with the 5.3, they are better on gas than the bigger engines. we put cold air intakes on both, and they put out more horsepower than the 6.0's.

Unless you are going to haul stuff all day the 1500 is just fine they are really nice trucks... and engines are reliable

If I had to choose I would purchase the 2500HD, just because you can haul big things like cars, gravel, dirt, etc without the rear-end dragging on the ground. The 1500 model is okay if that's all your going to carry is your 4 wheeler & dirt bike. You can buy an extended cab or crew cab with an 8ft bed, but you might have to order that from the dealer, because these trucks are not common or easy to find.

the 2500 is a truck. the 1500 is a big car.the brakes suspension and gas mileage are different.I have the 1500 and pull farm equipment and yes honda rincons, about and have no problems.I drive many miles a week and love the gas mileage of the small block.I have a 2002 silverado and a2009 sierra.I can't plow with them but if i needed to I would buy the 2500 or 3500.My trucks have the cab and a half, 61/2" bed and the Honda 680 rincon fits in the bed with the back tire not on tailgate.(although I can't close it).The crew cab bed is shorter however.
