Last night on my way home from work my 2010 Chevy Malibu broke down.

I was driving about 10 miles an hour (coasting) went to accelerate on the interstate and had no acceleration - the car was still on, no lighting dimmed... - I pulled over to the shoulder using the coasting and went to apply the brakes and had lost power braking. I turned the car off to see if restarting it would help and when I did everything started normal, shuddered and then lost braking and acceleration again. Any thoughts as to what might be going on? It is at the dealership, my husband thought it was the computer... We did have the roaters refinished about 1,000 miles ago, we were in the smokies and going down a hill one day the car shook unbelievably when the brakes were applied...

document everything
it sounds like you have a lemon

your rotors shouldnt have needed any type of service at 12,000 miles
and now this?

thats already 2 separate issues

lol@you people saying the car is a lemon...read up on what constitutes a car being a lemon before speaking and giving this lady horrible information. BTW, lemon laws also vary state to state.

Anyway, get it to your local GM dealer, the car is covered under the factory warranty. It really could be anything to be honest, it's impossible to diagnose over the computer....but again the car is covered under warranty. Just take it to them...anything we say on here as to what it could be is really irrelevant.

Sounds like you may have got a "lemon". I'd be talking to the dealership about another car.
