2009 Chevy Cobalt SS 2dr VS 1997 M3 2dr?

I was interested in a brand new 2009 Chevy Cobalt 2dr or a 1997 M3 Very clean and 49,000 miles. Which one would be my best choice?
How reliable are Chevy Cobalt SS? How about their handling?

Cobalt SS is 25,000 and M3 is 13,500.

Well i would go with a used mitsubishi evo or a used subaru sti...... The 0-60 on these are 5 seconds superior to either of those cars
