Where can I buy a wire harness for a 2007 Chevy Cobalt aftermarket Stereo? I've been looking everywhere and can't find one that will still allow the chimes to work properly.

Most of the time when you install an aftermarket stereo, its not going to have every single feature that your stock one had because it was made for that car. Aftermarket stereos are meant to be universal so you cant expect it to do the same things as your stock one. There is for the most part one harness adapter for each type of car, if you already have the harness adapter then thats most likely the only type you'll find.

Be very careful.I'm not sure if they make a kit yet for the aftermarket radio.

The Radio in your car is actually considered a module. All of the modules(door switches, brake module, ecm, body control module, etc) have to talk to each other. If one doesn't communicate then, you will have communication errors and possible warning lamps.

You may consider upgrading your radio for a different GM radio as long as your RPO codes will allow the change. You can consult your GM dealer for upgrading radio options-then it will need to be programmed by the dealer.

It's not like the old days when you can just swap things out-unfortunatley.
