The Chev will get you better mileage and will last longer than the Dodge.
I have had both and my current driver is a 1999 Chev Silverado, extended cab 4X4 with 120K on the clock. The only thing I have replaced is the radio so I could plug in my ipod, other than routine maintenance items.
