Hi. 2004 Chevy Silverado 5.3L crew cab with 130k miles. My trans could probably use some fluid change. All gears shift smoothly except from 1st to 2nd. It seems that it must need to be at higher rpm in order to shift and when it does finally shift from 1st to 2nd its not necessarily "smooth". Dont know exactly why that started to happen but I know that i should probably change fluid or some of it anyways. thats just a little info for anyone who can help.

My main question is what is the procedure for changing some of the fluid out without dropping the pan. Cant you disconnect line from trans to radiator and drain some that way? If so can you explain the steps for me. Thank you I somewhat mechanically inclined am capable of following good direction besides dont have much money to take it somewhere. Thank you very much for any help
