1. The truck jerks when it shifts from first to second. the slower you go, the harder it jerks. it has 126,000 miles but has been doing this for a while. i had the u joints replaced recently, but it wasn't done professionally so it might have not been done right. Does this sound like a u joint problem or something more serious?
2. I want to start maintaining the truck at about 126,000 miles what should i be doing? i got engine cleaner and fuel injector cleaner but what other simple things should i be doing...shocks, spark plugs, etc.
3. coming from someone who knows for sure, how much would it cost to get it painted? it is a crew cab, and i would want a somewhat decent job. it has a bunch of dings that im planning on getting fixed and since its hard to perfectly match the color, im planning on getting the whole thing painted. it is maroon and i either want to get it repainted the same color or painted black.
I'm talking about the engine cleaner that u spray all over the engine and spray off not anything I'm actually putting in the engine

The words "engine cleaner" and 126,000 miles should not be used in the same sentence. Don't put no Miracle Liquid in the engine. Just do regular maintenance: filters, oil, grease, and mechanical or safety stuff. Old high mileage trucks come unglued with Miracle Remedies. I would take it to AAMCO first and gt the transmission serviced.

well my best advice im not a certified mechanic but i would say make sure your tranny is full with the right level of fluid if that doesnt do it and your good maybe the filter changed on it and flush it and maintenence i would say spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter, rear diff fluid change, check tire ballance and all the greaseable joints, or take it to a shop if your not car savy and tell them you want the truck checked from top to bottom but before you do the paint make sure the tranny isnt going because it will cost about the same for paint maybe a little less depending on who does it or if you buy used rebuilt or brand new hope i helped a little
