Now, not to be sarcastic, but please make sure you know what Im asking before you respond. Many a time I have posted something here, and someone will read the first line and ignore the rest. My car wont start. The theft light flashes. I did the fix by letting it sit ON for 10 minutes, off, on, then start. Fine. But then, it happened a week later. How does this get permanently fixed? Has someone had this resolved. PLEASE NOTE: this happened to me 2 years ago and has been fine until now. Now twice in a month. Did someone have something replaced like the ignition module or something and that stopped it from happening? I would love to hear anyone who was in a similar situation and had it resolved. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Passlock Perdition. The reset you have done is only that - it gets it working once. The system has to relearn the key, as described in the last two paragraphs of the first source. If problems persist you are deep in it already. The ignition cylinder is usually the first part to be replaced, and that sometimes works. The next step is either the instrument cluster or the Body Control Module, depending on which has the smarts in your car. After that, desperate people bypass the system altogether according to Boilerman's procedure about 2/3 down the second source.
