2003 chevrolet silverado 1500 leaking oil from transmission?

When the mechanin was doing the tune up he noticed that there was an oil leak from the transmission is this somethin that would be expensive to fix or what could be wrong with the truck?

I had a small leak on my 02 Silverado. Had to replace the rear seal which connects the transmission to the diff if I recall right. The part cost me about $85 (CAN) and my mechanic installed it in about 10 minutes. He had to disconnect the differential to get it in but seemed like an easy enough fix. He didnt charge me for the install it was so easy.

er... had to disconnect the drive shaft from the transmission... not the differential is what i meant.
