My truck went dead this morning, I jump it off and it runs. I undo the jumper cables and it goes dead. I jump it off and notice that my gauges are not working. I take my altenator off and have it checked and its good, they checked it 2 times at Advanced auto. I go home and put it back on. I have a 2002 chevy silverado 1500 5.3, I take the Battery out of my sons car, a 2003 ford taurus and try it. cranks right up. its charging and no probs gauges working. I drive it all day no prob. I stop at store get in and crank it and its charging at 9 volts, well not charging. I get down rd about 8th mile and it starts charging. no probs. get home and get back in truck later same thing, not charging but get down rd a piece and it starts charging when I crank it the gauges work fine, the charging shows around 9 on gauge, then jumps to over 14 down the rd a piece. I put brand new terminals on the Battery, good and tight, great connections. what in the world could this be? I am lost. Thanks for any help guys.
