My husband filled my truck up last night as we were on our way home. As we drove into the garage, I heard a snap, but thought we had ran over one of the kids toys in the garage or something. I went inside to put my keys down and turn on the kitchen lights. I came back outside to get the kids out and I smelled gas in the garage. I told my husband that the pop that we heard must have been him running over the gas can (that we use for the lawn mower) Anyway, he looked and said, no that isn't it, its the truck. I opened the garage back up and backed it out (I didn't crank it because I was afraid that it would catch fire, so we rolled it). I got up this morning and it isn't leaking (my garage just reaks of gas). What do you think happened with the truck? I also have to mention, I haven't filled my truck up completely and to the max in about 3 months. I ususally keep it at 3/4 or half full. Could the weight have done this? I'm assuming the crack is at the top since it isn't leaking. My husband will need to take it somewhere, but I'm trying to get a general idea of what may be going on. Can we drive it?Do you think it will catch fire? Any mechanics know what this may be, or anybody ever had this happen? How costly is this?
