I have a 2001 suburban 5.3 with 109000miles. I was driving along the hwy a few days ago and it starting sort of surging at around 50mph once about 50 it stopped and then was fine again without the problem. Today driving down the hwy i noticed i needed higher revs to change gears and then on the way home suddenly at about 55 it would not change gear at all. I was able to drive home at around 40. my hubby checked the transmission fluid. Nothing showed at all on the stick. So we put in a small bottle of the recommended one. There is no sign of leakage anywhere. This car is well maintained had a transmission flush about 8 months ago and is not due for oil change until about six weeks. Does this mean our transmission has gone or could it be a smaller problem
