My 2001 Chevy Malibu has thrown the DTC P0128 for the 3rd time this month. Just today though, after throwing the DTC, the radiator fans would turn on as soon as I turned the key and would not shut off. As soon as I cleared the DTC, the fans shut off being that the temp was only 108*F. Then since I was just sitting there, the temp began to climb to within 20*F away from the red zone, without the fans turning on again. I drove the car to get cold air to flow through the radiator and it then went back down. However it then started to rise again as soon as I parked it. I shut off the car while the temp was still in the normal level and began to run my OBDII diagnostic program and nothing abnormal was detected. As I was sitting there with the car off however, I heard a very faint bubbling sound coming from the heater core. I believe that it is 1 of the 2 temp switches that control the fans. But when I heard the bubbling from the heater core, it threw me off my thought process. I'd like to hear any other possible ideas for what might be wrong with it. Thank you very much.
