My 2001 chevy malibu seems to be leaking anti-freeze, thus creating it to over heat. Not to mention one of the fans that is suppose to help cool off the engine is not working. When one of my friends looked at it, he said the leak may be coming from the head gasket. Is this possible? And if so how much would replacing a head gasket cost? Also any suggestions on how to get that fan working again?

the problem could be the head gasket but most likely it is the intake gasket they are known for both. the fan thing may just be that one of them is a high temp fan meaning that the one on the passenger side witch i am assuming is the one not working will not kick on until the motor reaches about 240 degrees. the price on having it fixed really depends on where you take it and what kind of garage it is but just for a ball park you are looking at around 800 bucks unless you can do it yourself or know someone who can then the parts will run you about 100 bucks.
