i have a 2001 1500 with a 5.3. it is having trouble starting when its cold, or has been sitting for a while. i have to crack it a few times before it starts up.
i read that the fuel pressure regulators on the 5.3 go bad. all the things i read on the internet decribed what my truck is doing and said it was the regulator. so i went to the auto parts store and got one. in stalled it and the same thing.
dose anyone know what els it could be? also the check engine light comes on as well. it will go off after a few minutes of driving or it will stay on for days. then it will eventually go off.
any help would be great........
