I have just finished replacing the fuel pressure regulator on my 2000 silverado z71 with the 5.3 liter V8. My problem is that before it was having problems starting warm, now its having problems with starting cold. I let the fuel pump prime every time i go to drive it, and it still has a hard time. It will crank and crank and crank with no luck, but when i turn the key off after the first try, it fires right up after that. I have a few header bolts sheared off... (both rear bolts and driver side second from last also. the clicking sound is a good indicator of this when its cold).i dont know if this is now an exhaust back pressure problem or what the hell it going on. i dont know where to go from here guys... I need some answers and quick... i just bought the damn truck and was looking for quality and fun and so far neither have been found. And as you know, no problems arise during the test drives. its not until you throw down your hard earned cash that the fit hits the shan. The truck was bought at a little dealer so no warrany help whatsoever. Im willing to tackle this head on, but i need to get a perspective on where to go and how much to spend... all the repairs will be done by me up until a certain point, so PLEASE help me out as much as possible! Thanks!
