I took my car to advanced for a engine check light dialysis. It showed a failure, that I can't remember what it was, but the tech guy said it was a vacuum leak. I noticed that the hissing sounds like it was around the engine, (more towards the driver's side) but not sure if it is a vacuum leak or not. Could it be a bad intake gasket? I don't lose oil or coolant.

Do you know the specific code? First visually inspect your vacuum lines, they can degrade or come loose with time and wear. If you can't spot the problem get a can of carb cleaner/starter fluid and spray a bit around your vacuum lines one at a time. If your idle changes you know it's getting sucked in in that area.

How are your brakes? if they feel abnormal, it could be your brake booster vacuum line. Usually a dead give away.
