My friend had one in high school and we piled in that thing and drove everywhere on a tank of gas. For the size of the car it gets good gas millage. Of coarse don't be expecting it to get 30 mpg but you can definitely expect to get on the hwy and go about 26-28 mpg! We loved that car...

Not bad on gas. 25 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. Keep the tires aired up, tuned it up, new air filter and drive conservatively. No jack rabbit starts! Driving habit is the number one way to save gas. Holds lots of luggage in the trunk. Smooth riding on a trip.
