Howdy folks,

Had a slow leak I tried to repair and it has turned into a nightmare. Broke everything open and replaced all o-rings, accumulator, compressor, orifice tube and then flushed. Closed everything up and pumped it down to 28. After 5 hours it would not go any lower. It only took 10 minutes to suck down to 28. Started introducing the freon to the system and then low side qauge went immediately to 95 psi and the high side stayed at zero. Shook can for 30 minutes and it felt like nothing every left the can. The low side increased to 115 psi but high side still at zero. Broke the system back open thinking I had an expansion valve in the rear stuck closed or open. Used compressed air to blow down the high side line of expansion valve and I could feel a good amount of air flowing out the low side line. I reversed that procedure by blowing down the low side and I could feel good amount of air coming out the high side. So I blew out the rest of the system to make sure all openings had compressed air out coming out and they did.

I did however fix the leak because the 115psi stayed in system overnight.

Any ideas? Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

Well folks, I fixed it. It was my gauges. They must have gone bad in the middle of all this because I went and bought new ones. I was able to draw down to 30in hg and then it started suckin that can down fast. Fully charged now and runnin cold.

glad you found the problem!
