1999 Chevy Suburban: Bad Issues?

Note: I have recently posted about this issue but I got some of the facts wrong.

I have a 1999 Chevy Suburban that has had a problem for years now: while accelerating, the truck sputters like hell. The truck can hardly even get going and it takes feathering the gas to get it to about 30, and then accelerating to highway speeds from then on is long and full of smaller sputters. Even at a constant speed it sputters.

Idling is fine. Never had a problem. When I go to start the car, though, sometimes I have to turn the key twice for it to work.

I have a brand new transmission, a new fuel filter, 2 year old spark plugs and a new air filter.

I was reading online about a bad egr, and once my truck cools down I was going to remove it and inspect it, and I was wondering tif my symptoms sound like a bad egr.

Oh, and the problem has been there for about 2 years now, and it wasn't really getting worse until now, which is why I'm looking more into it.

have you ever had a problem with the truck not wanting to start? my truck some day will start no problems and then other days it wont do anything, please help

is your check engine light on? have you checked if your catalytic convertor is clogged?

I have seen this lots of times try a new cap and rotor the cap will go bad and send the spark to different cyclinders

sounds like your cap and or timing issues

I just had this problem with my 99 suburban with 196k on it. I had to replace the cat converters, the o2 sensors and the fuel pump. I spent $600 on the cat converters and the o2 sensors and the truck ran the best it ever has for me in the last 1.5 years. Fueld pump is going in today.
