Hello...I am new to the forum. I just purchased a 1998 K1500 4x4 extended cab. Truck has around 192,000 miles on it. I purchased this truck to be a back up truck and 4x4 for the winter. I noticed it needed some work on it but it was overall a good truck (esp for the price!!). I noticed that it still occasionally has a miss in it and doesn't want to start. Below is what i have done to it since I owned it (approx 2 weeks):
Replaced distributor - ac delco
replaced cap and rotor - ac delco
replaced spark plugs and spark plug wires - ac delco
replaced fuel filter - ac delco
replace serp belt
changed oil and oil filter
check rear and front differential fluids - fluid level good and looked fine
checked transfer case - added 1 1/2 qts
checked transmission fluid - fluid clean and full

It was running real rough when i had all work done. it brought up service engine soon light on and it is the dreaded P0430 code.

Could the rough running of the motor caused theP0430 code? Would it be an 02 sensor issue or the cat?

Any help would be appreciated!!!

Thanks for the info. For example, I drove it around just now and when I went to park it, I reved it up and it wanted to die. Would that P0430 cause this issue or is it something else?

Based on the link it would be more noticeable when cold, was the engine fully warmed up?
