I'll try to keep it short. Lastnight I gunned (raised the rpms high) it through an intersection so I wouldnt get stuck at a red light. Next light, I got stuck at a red. I notice immediately that my truck is running shakey. I take off and I have very low power, check engine light comes on. I run a scan, I get a P0302; Cylinder 2 has a misfire. I clear the code and drive around the block to see if i get the same code. This time I get a multiple misfire code. I run a compreesion test this morning starting at #2. According to the reading of the compression tester none of my cylinders are holding pressure which i find strange because the truck is still starting up and somewhat driveable.

What could be causing this? I thought it was the tester i was using but I video recorded the gauge while i was cranking the enigine over and saw in the video that it would flutter up to 60psi at the most.

you removed all the spark plugs?
you have the gauge adapter fully screwed into the cylinder head?
you have the throttle wide open while cranking?
the gauge is reliable?

I had everything right except the tester. I had a bad loner from Autozone. I redid the the test with another tester and got these readings;

Cyl 8. 180psi. Cyl 7. 160psi
Cyl 6. 165psi. Cyl 5. 160psi
Cyl 4. 160psi. Cyl 3. 160psi
Cyl 2. 170psi. Cyl 1. 130psi

With these results I'm assuming that it's not a head gasket or a valve issue.
I was told that it could be a broken distributor rotor cap or cap which I checked and are both good.
