Hello, I have a 1994 chevy suburban with a 350 in it. it has 120k miles on it. the truck has always ran perfectly fine and yesterday when i was driving i came to a stop sign and the truck stuttered and stalled. the truck restarted and the stalled in about 5 seconds. it was hard to start but started again if i gave it gas and spit and stuttered and died again. wouldnt restart for about 15 minutes. then it idled for 30 minutes fine and when i went to drive it and motor got heat soaked the truck did the same thing when i tried to drive it. any ideas I havent changed any parts yet. I havent done a tune up on it or changed the fuel filter in a while but, seems to weird to be a fuel filter.
thanks for your time
Jon

How long after it starts stalling does it take before it restarts?

If it's more than a few minutes you could check the fuel pressure and spark while it's not starting. That might give you a direction to look for more info.

you always have to start with the basics, no tuneup, how many miles is " in a while" ?

thanks for the quick responses. i would say about 15 minutes before it will restart and run for awhile again.
it has probably been 60k since i have done a tune up. i will try that first.
thanks for the help

Have you pulled the codes?
As mentioned, take care of the basics first. These engines are pretty bulletproof but they need some attention. I'd put on a new fuel filter at least.

I agree with VanGo about that fuel filter. It sure sounds more fuel related to me than anything else.
