This may be long (so I apologize in advance) but hopefully detailed enough to pin point my truck’s problem.

I have a 1989 Chevy Silverado 4x4 with a 350 EFI - Mileage unknown. Starts like a champ. Idles great...at first. As the engine warms up it begins to sputter. If you throttle up the engine, it begins to back fire and miss. Almost killing itself out.

It uses oil quite rapidly (about 1 quart every time I had to fill the gas tank) and did prior to this newly develop sputtering problem. It also has a slight oil drip. But, clearly not the only cause of the oil consumption. Basically the oil is going somewhere else. No white, black, or blue smoke exhausting when running. Just a little black smoke on initial starting

I have had a pressure test done. All 8 ran at the same pressure and if I recall correctly they were around 120 (PSI? - but it was a while ago). Also the test was done while the engine was cold. We did notice oil on one sparkplug. And they were new plugs. The engine ran maybe 25 minutes total on those new plugs and showed the oil deposit on it.

So my question is, Due to the issues and findings I have explained. What possibilities could it be; Head Gasket? Cracked Block? Intake Gasket? Is there a way...based on what I have explained...to eliminate any of these three. Or advice on what clues I should keep an eye open for as I tear into it so I can diagnose properly and eventually fix properly?
