I recently bought an 88 suburban non running. Truck has not ran in 3 to 5 years. I was able to get to fire by shooting brake cleaner in vac line off of manifold. Put in new fuel pump and now have fuel flowing at least thru new filter. But will not start or run at all on its own. Would throttle body be clogged from setting so long? Any ideas or help?

sitting 3 to 5 years the gas would have gummed up, did you drain the tank and refill with fresh gas? You may have to open up the TB to see what is inside

I'd remove the throttle body and fuel lines and clean them all. Odds are that the throttle body is so full of varnish, that it's not working properly. I've seen people take cars that have set for years with gas in them, just top them off with premium fuel and drive them. Now, these were all carburetor cars, not fuel injected or tbi. They smoked like crazy for a few days, but after that were okay.
