1987 Chevy Suburban leaking from back after pulling trailer.?

I have a 87 Suburban that I just noticed a leak coming from the back of the truck by the passenger side wheel. I noticed it after I pulled my camper to the camp site. There was a dark oil looking spot on the ground but smelled like gas. There is also a heavy gas smell around my truck after driving it. Any ideas?

look to see if there is a wet area on the gas tank
if so the tank is leaking
could also be a fuel line or filter leak
if tank is leaking then it needs to be repaired or replaced
that old of Suburban is common for gas tank to rust thru
