1987 chev suburban tranny

My tranny is going out on my 1987 350 5.7L Suburban it is a 4 speed auto tranny.. It only drives in 2 gear no drive, but if you put it in over drive and go over 35 mph it will shift hard into over drive but then it just wants to go lol.. anyone have any suggestions on how to fix it or know someone with a used one that they dont want

When is the last time you changed the filter and fluid, that would be the easiest thing to try.

i havent changed the tranny fluid i chaned the oil and flitr..is there a tranny fliter?

Yes just about every tranmission has a filter, it's inside the transmission pan, and it along with the fluid should be periodically changed.
