1981 (and up) body on a 1976 frame

Hi,

I own a 1976 Suburban C20. The body of the Sub is getting a little bad (read: rotten) and I was wondering if it is possible to swap a body that is comming from a suburban from 1981 to 1991 to my 1976 frame without modification because it is hard to find a good body in the Netherlands for the model '73 to '80. I know that the Suburbans built from 1973 to 1980 have a couple of differences when compared to the model 1981 to 1991. Does anybody have information about the things I should concern about? Are the bolt-on spots located on the same place or do I need to modificate those things? And what about the hood and the front fenders? Can I use the "old" ones or do I need to install fenders and the hood from the newer model?

Thanks!
Sabbie

Personally I dont think you will get an answer to your question. Most people in the states have access to the correct body parts and would never attempt a complete body swap to a older frame. You can try posting this question on other sites such as

Not sure of the situation in the Netherlands but couldnt you find a newer vehicle with a blown engine or transmission and swap your current engine/transmission?
