I know this is a random question, but I might be getting my grandpas old 1978 Chevy Silverado just for this summer. I will need to drive places like dance, stores, and all that stuff.. I just wanted to know what is an approximate range of the Silverado's gas mileage (just a guess)? Also, it looks like it has a radio, but I didnt look close enough to see if it even had speakers...any ideas?

Assuming the engine is in good condition the mileage can vary from 10 MPG around town if your heavy on the gas pedal to low 20's on the highway if you keep it down to 60 MPH or so. I would expect high teens, 17-18 Mpg average. I have a 4x4 of that vintage and cant get more than 14. You didn't say what engine, my numbers are for a 350. If it has a 6 cylinder, it will do a little better. It's a good solid vehicle anyway, and if it has been looked after it won't give you much trouble.
