Hi, I have a 1975 chevy nova and it went underwater and sat for two days during Katrina, to my surprise it doesn't have a spot of rust on it, not even on the frame, however I am skeptical so I am going to buy a rebuilt engine. I have no idea what I need to get. I need an engine thats 302 and up that will cause this car to run and I need any options, im guessing, that goes with this car. Please help I have no idea what i'm talking about!?!

Purchase a crate motor from company like Jasper or Speedway Motors (both can be searched on web) and have a mechanic install it for you. This isn't a job for a novice. As far as engine size, speed costs money, how fast do you want to go. All Chevrolet engines will fit under hood. You might have to change transmission to be compatible with chosen engine. The 1975 Nova came from the factory with a six cylinder, small block V8 (302, 307, 350) and a big block V8 (427). Other engines that will fit are 302,305, 327, 355, 377, 388, 396, 400, 402 and 454.
