07 suburban can't get rear lcd screen to turn on? any ideas?

i have an 07 suburban, got 3 different remotes to try, 2 factory, 1 universal (tried all toshiba codes). i can't get the rear monitors to turn on with a remote control, i have to take the dvd out and put it back in to turn on rear monitor. red lights turn on, like the ir works (ir headphones work), so i can't figure out why it doesn't turn on.
