02 chevy silverado oil question?

i was reading another guys post an he was telling a guy that its not good to put synthetic oil in a high mil age vehicle.so i want to know why because i just brought a truck not to long ago and i start puting some mobil 1 fully synthetic oil in it and my truck has 145000 miles on it.i also use 5w30 is that good to use on it

Well i have never heard of that but i know that mobile 1 is a good oil... i used to work at a shop and we only used mobile supplies... and as far as 5w30 for your truck im not shur... just look in the manual for the specs on it
