Yesterday morning, When I went to start my car, It wanted to start but quickly died. After that, I would try to start it and the RPMs would shoot up to 4 or 5 k and the MPH gauge would go to 60 and it would say I have a full tank of gas. I took the key out of the ignition and they would be stuck there. Then the RPM needle would twitch back down. Also when I tried to start it, NOTHING happened, No clicking no sound whatsoever. My dad says, due to the cold weather and slush, water got up into (something) and froze and all I had to do was let it sit and unfreeze. I don't know much about cars so. It's a 2001 Chevy Malibu 3.1 V6 Automatic. I live in Minnesota and recently we had a crap load of snow on a warm day then it froze over night. I just got a new battery for it like 3 months ago. I'm pretty sure I didn't leave the lights on. Everything else comes on, Radio, dome lights, but the darn thing won't start.
My guess would be something with no gas cause I do not have much gas in the tank. I don't know. Will someone please shed light on this? Just strange how it almost started then just seemed to stop trying. Or could it be the fuse?
Thank you for any help!
