Default Hello All

Hi, My name is Mike
I am not new to the HHR. I have an 06 Sunburst Orange 2.4 that just turned 261,000 mi. The only repetitive problem I've had is the front rotors warping which I had turned every couple years or replaced. This last spring I did have the front end completely rebuilt.
The car has now developed a "running hot" problem. In town AC on, temp will go up to 200, ac off, it stays around 185-187, on the interstate AC, on it will go as high as 221, AC off, it will run around 199-200. I have "burped" the system, checked fluid levels but have not replaced thermostat or cap. Any thoughts other than replacing the antifreeze, cap and thermostat?

From the factory the vehicle came with a 195 thermostat so some of those low readings dont make sense. The normal operating range once warmed up is 195 to 225. At about 215 the fan or fans come on with AC off. With AC on the fans should come on once you reach 195.
Are the fans working?
Are you loosing coolant?
