2012 Malibu LT 2.4L

Looking to install a block heater, any thing special to get?

Just called NAPA and they dont carry a block heater for it but just the cord. so does that mean that there may be a factory heater element already installed?

unless it was ordered by the original dealer or owner, no it doesnt have one.

Is there a way to find out if it came with one from the factory?

you have a decal typically located on the trunk lid or the glove box door with all the codes for the options the car came with. You can also go to any GM dealer and give them the serial number and they can look it up for you. Below is a link to the parts

I found the cord but of coarse its not long enough to exit out the front grill...lol
