Default Cost of Charging the Chevy Bolt EV on Three Public Fast Charging Networks

If you ever wondered how much it would cost you to charge a Chevy Bolt EV on the public fast charging networks, I've got you covered. In this story, I'll look at my last twelve charging sessions on three different networks and discuss how much it cost me to charge my 2017 Chevy Bolt EV.

In a previous story, I provided some strategies for keeping costs low while using the public DC fast charging infrastructure, but I want to focus specifically on the costs Iíve actually paid in my Chevy Bolt EV. In this story, I will compare my last twelve DC fast charging sessions on each of three public charging providers: ChargePoint, Electrify America, and EVgo. Iíll share some details about my use cases, membership statuses, and driving efficiency. In addition, Iíll call out some specific charging sessions that are either outliers or provide interesting insights.

What stuck me of interest was the time required to charge at the stops he made, about 1 hour. The technology is still not competitive enough for a mass conversion to electric. Perhaps the use of embedded solar cells in the body panels would help.
