Cool Derate oddity.

2008 Aveo5. when the temp (outside) gets above 60-65 or so the throttle position sensor causes the engine to derate when letting off the gas. I just have to turn the car off and restart after about 2-3 seconds, and it resets. Might go for a quarter of a mile or the rest of the day ok. The hotter the worse it is. And it absolutely never does this in the winter, or any cooler day. Already have a new throttle body ordered, and will install when it arrives, but I have had no luck at all trying to get any info on this problem. Any guesses?

I think you have a typo in your first sentence, what do you mean by "derate"?
do you have a check engine light on?

Derate means the computer keeps your engine from exceeding low preset limits on either speed, RPM's, or both. It actually de-rates the engine.
