Default 07 Tahoe Front Wheel Bearing Gone, Brakes Gone?

First time poster, long time lurker.

I know it's not advisable to drive on a bad bearing, but I did for about 10 days. I ordered a new front wheel bearing, and got it in the mail yesterday.

However, two days ago, I was pulling into my driveway. As I applied the brakes I heard something snap, and the grinding noise went away. After the snap, as I applied the brakes coming up to my garage door, they went all the way in, it felt like I had lost hydraulic pressure, spongy, but they did stop the car - I had my foot on the emergency brake in case it wasn't as soon as I felt them so spongy.

Anyway, haven't driven the truck since, but need some input as to what might be wrong... I know how to replace the bearing, but with the brake issue, I'm not certain what the problem could be.

EDIT - Happy Thanksgiving

How did you diagnose either problem, noisey bearing versus brake issue, without jacking up the suspect end and side of the suspension and feeling for excessive play or noise and examining the brakes? The noise could have been the metal brake pad backing starting to hit the rotor and now all the pad material has broken/ fell off causing the pedal to fail. Either cause, bearing or brakes, requires you to remove the brake caliper.
