I havent seen that kind of connector. If you are sure that is the cause of the problem have you considered wrapping the wires with electrical tape and then using the RTV?

You clearly stated in post #3 if you fade to the front the problem is not there which points to an issue with the amp for the rear.

if you isolated the problem to the rear speakers the problem is the amp located under the drivers seat.

Only reference to an amp is for the rear speakers on a 6 speaker system and it doesnt work with an aftermarket radio without modification.

again I dont have a circuit diagram but what about the neutral safety switch or it's harness which may be part of the harness related to the shift indicator.

the number 8 fuse is marked the Crank fuse so that would make sense

have you looked at the engine compartment fuse box both top and bottom for signs of corrosion, melting, etc.? Have you check the connections at the BCM for issues?

I assume since you have the various pins to test you have a circuit diagram for the release mechanism? If so does the diagram show the non-functioning switch feeding back to the BCM or is it acting...

I'm in Connecticut and have been using E10 in cars from the 60's and 70's for many years with no ill effect. There is no issue in using E10 in a 1986 vehicle. You can not use E15.
