you can try looking for images at www.gmpartsdirect.com and try to find a copy of a Chilton or Hanes manual, local library may have them. No idea how you are going to find the sizes of all those...

I believe they are torx nuts and one site claimed using a 15 mm deep socket on the front and a 7/16" deep socket on the rear removed them.

dont have Kilmer's background but looking at the numbers the 4 cylinder puts out more horsepower and torque than the V6.

if you disconnect both cables and touch them together that will discharge any capacitors or try overnight.
Have you looked at the code 65 and the possible causes other than the control unit?

Not sure what you mean it "might" be an allen head either it has a six sided recess for an allen socket or allen wrench or it doesnt?

is the problem you have to loosen the power steering pump to install the alternator belt?
Cannt see clearly from the picture but doesnt that bolt use an allen key?

Based on your scanner not being able to read the code, other than using a scanner capable of a reset you could try disconnecting the battery. Just be forewarned that occasionally that can trigger...

The gun is attached to the low side so with the engine off it will not give you the correct reading. I believe the instructions state not to hook up until the engine is started?

who is checking the codes a dealer or a parts store? If a parts store do they have a scanner capable of reading history?
Have you checked the battery terminals to insure they are not loose?

I can not find a listing for the wire harness at a GM parts site due to the age. A salvage yard with a Hollander Interchange guide may have the answer or open the doors to see what the differences...
