I have a 2001 Sub and squeeze out 10 mpg. I think my gauge is wrong bc it reads empty and I've only driven 230 miles. So with a 36 gal tank at 10 mpg, I should get around 360 mile out of a tank full.
How do you guys do? |

I have checked the mileage using the odometer a few times. I get about 14.5 mpg in my 1997 1500 5.7L. I mostly drive rural roads and highway. With a 42 gallon tank, I easily get 450-500 miles out of it.
I could get more miles out of a tank full for sure, but the gauge is really inaccurate so I want to play it safe. When I fill it all the way up it reads way above full and does not come down to the full mark until 175 miles have been driven. If the gauge reads 3/4, it is actually 1/2 full. If it reads 1/8, then you are about to run out of gas (as I did at 3am in the middle of nowhere one night). |

I love spending $150 at the pump.

My 1999, 5.7, got 16.1 mpg at my last fill-up. Mostly highway miles at 70 mph.

This is discouraging.
![]() I'm getting ready to take a round trip from Wichita to San Antonio, hauling a U-Haul trailer back. I'm hoping to get my hew headers on before I go. Hopefully they will help with the 3' single exhaust the PO installed. Everything else is tuned up, aligned and ready to go. At $3.60/gal this trip is going to hurt. |

I keep a log on all fuel and maintenance issues. Since new in 2002 our Suburban has averaged 17.748 MPG to date.

I just got back from my 1300 mile trip and I averaged 15.6 highway at 70MPH. I'm a little disappointed.

Just purchased a 2009 1500 LT w/ 30,000 miles on it. For the first 4 weeks I'm running 17.1 overall mpg! I'm happy to be doing so well.
