My dad lied to me about giving me a Corvette! Please tell me what you think is fair.?

So basically a month ago my dad said he would buy me a brand new Corvette for my first car, under one condition...I wouldn't say any bad words infront of him. The deal was on for 6 months and all of a sudden he calls the deal off. He said, "I'll buy you a toy one" I obviously thought he was kidding but I guess not. So anyways do you he think he came to his sences and backed himself into a corner? Anyways I want your insight. Please no bs answers, spamming, name calling etc. I know that corvettes are strong and not a 16yr olds car, but he said he promised and now I'm very hurt. Btw he doesn't drink so please don't like say, "he's probably sober now!" or sum thing dumb like that. Oh yeah we have a lot of money so it isn't like we can't pay the morgage or some other payment.
Forgot to tell you that I would pay for 1/2. Also thanks for commenting on my spelling it's kinda hard to type selecting each letter on a PSP!
