Somewhere under the hood is a schematic or other words a map on the exact process to replace the serpentine belt.Follow it to the T should have no problem.

You will need a , 3/8 ratchet , look for the tensioner , place the square that you put sockets on the ratchet and lock it in place , then push down on the ratchet and you should be able to take the belt off by lowering the tensioner . In some older Chevrolets with the 2.4 0r 3.1 engines there is a motor mount on the right side which may need to be loosen , take a floor jack and with a piece of wood on the jack , place it under the car at a transmission corner , and lift it a bit enough to take the tork of ,secondly loosen the bolts on the motor mount , take the upper assembly off the mount so that you have room for your hand , to place the ratchet on the tensioner , push down on the tensioner using your ratchet #3 replace the serpentine belt , when placing the belt back on again place the ratchet into the squire hole , and pull the tension pulley up but before you do this, position the belt for installation , using the diagram on you radiator support , place your belts around the alternator , power steering pump , A/C ETC. and when you have everything ready pull the tensioner up and with your other hand move your serpentine belt to the tensioner'r position , and now let the tesioner rest on it as it was before . ( for the engine mount make sure that you place the assembly as you took it off , tighten the bolts , and lower the jack down take the jack out from under the car , and start your car . or for about 75.00 dollars a repair shop could replace the belt for you . while you wait . it takes less than an hour . or you could buy a do-it-yourself auto manual that they sell at Pep Boys , Auto Strauss , advance auto for 22.00, and have that book ready when you do your own work , hey you'll save hundreds it will show you step by step on how to do it , with time you will be a pro , and you'll be helping your friends Good luck
