what is a chevy chevelle ss clone? and what do matching number mean?

does it mean that the car isn't all original or something? ive seen pics of the clone and one that not a clone and they look exactly alike. what's the difference? im looking to buy one and restore it i just can't seem to find any info on clones and matching numbers (cant find a dang chevelle for that matter)

Exactly what it implies, "clone" means just like something else (not a true SS in this case). Numbers match means the VIN codes match the equipment, ie. engine, trim, paint and so on.
