Gen Six Camaro offers more performance, technology and customization choices

As production of the lighter, more powerful, more advanced 2016 Camaro grows near, Chevrolet revealed more details to help customers tailor their Gen Six exactly how they want it, including pricing information and an online visualizer.

The 2016 Camaro offers higher levels of performance, technology and refinement, starting at a suggested retail price of $26,695 for the Camaro 1LT, while the most powerful Camaro SS ever starts at $37,295 for the 1SS.

The new accessories visualizer allows customers to view many personalization features on the 2016 Camaro, including interior and exterior colors, wheels, stripes, and accessory options.

“The all-new 2016 Camaro builds on what made the Camaro the segment leader for five years,” said Todd Christensen, Camaro marketing manager. “It will reset the bar in the segment with even greater levels of performance, new technologies not found on any other car in the segment, and more choices that enable customers to take personalization farther than ever before.” Continue reading...

Chevy Certified Service Ready to Rescue at Woodward
Aug 13, 2015 - 11:18 AM - by Chevy Forums

The Chevy Certified Service Rescue Squad will cruise Woodward Avenue on Saturday, August 15, to help keep things moving by assisting classic cruisers that stall, overheat or run out of gas.

“It’s called the ‘The Dream Cruise’, but an overheated engine, a drained battery, or a flat tire can turn that dream into a nightmare for enthusiasts whose countdown clock to Woodward starts the day the last one ends,” said Chris Brandt, Chevrolet Certified Service advertising manager. “No one wants to break down or cause ‘The Dream Traffic Jam,’ so Chevrolet Certified Service technicians will help cruisers with the kind of minor issues that can be easily remedied.”

Stats compiled by last year’s Chevrolet Certified Service Rescue Squad point to a few key items to which cruisers should pay special attention before they hit the road with their classics: Continue reading...

Chevy Trucks: For Those Hard-to-Reach Places
Aug 13, 2015 - 10:53 AM - by Chevy Forums

Removing the wheels from a 2015 Chevy Colorado and replacing them with smaller ones to fit inside a Shorts 330 Sherpa airplane is one way ASRC Energy Services in Alaska is committed to getting fleet vehicles to employees in areas unreachable by conventional means.

As Alaska’s oilfield service partner, ASRC Energy Services deploys employees across the state to monitor everything from oilfield exploration and construction to ensure regulatory standards are properly followed.

“Our fleet vehicles double as mobile offices for the majority of our employees, so we need to give them dependable vehicles in the remote areas where they work,” said Chris Maynard, general manager of fleet operations, ASRC Energy Services. “These locations can vary from areas with no electricity to temporary roads built on top of the frozen tundra.” Continue reading...

The Results Are In: More Range for the 2016 Chevy Volt
Aug 04, 2015 - 10:53 AM - by Chevy Forums

The 2016 Chevy Volt is engineered to offer customers more of what they want: range, range and more range.

The Volt’s all-new second-generation Voltec extended-range electric propulsion system delivers 53 miles of pure EV range, based on EPA testing. That is nearly a 40-percent improvement over the first-generation Volt.

Chevrolet expects many next-generation Volt owners will use power solely from their batteries for more than 90 percent of trips. Today, Volt owners use battery power on 80 percent of their trips.

This means the average Volt owner could expect to travel well over 1,000 miles between gas fill ups, if they charge regularly. Continue reading...
