My trailblazer has the service engine light comming on intermittently. The code says that coolant temp is always low. The guage on the dash says temp. is increasing the proper level and staying there. In the engine compartment You can tell the temp is correct by feeling the lines. I was told that it could be either a thermostat or a sensor. I do not believe it is a thermostat, but am hesitant to think that it is a coolant level sensor because they operate off of resistance. What do you think?

it could be the thermostat. if it sticks open all the time then the engine will stay too cold or you might have a bad temperature sending unit.
